Ottawa Sushi restaurant - Genji
I like the sushi at Genji Japanese restaurant (Elgin & Lisgar). Their shrimp tempura maki was amazing and their Soft Shell Crab maki is my favourite. So happy to have Genji in downtown Ottawa. Genji is now our Friday lunch place!

Genji Japanese Restaurant - delicious food!
I like to hang out at Genji Japanese Restaurant with my friends for sushi. In addition to their famous "sweet potato" maki, I like their new "King of the Sea" sushi plate. If you don't know what to order, just order their set dinner. For less than $30, you buy yourself a very fine meal at very affordable price.

One of the best Japanese Restaurants in Ottawa!
I am not a fan of Japanese food, especially sushi since I am not too excited about the idea of eating raw fish. My knowledge of sushi was totaly wrong. In addition to raw fish like salmon roll, tuna roll, etc., Genji Japanese Restaurant also offers non-fish sushi such as Sweet Potato maki, Stampede maki (a thin AAA steak, lightly seared and wound around a maki stuffed with asparagus and avocado), chicken maki, soft shell crab maki, etc etc. Just too many to remember.
The presentation of the sushi was superb. The service was attentive. My meal at Genji was memorable.

Tasty sushi in Ottawa!
I went with my husband to Genji Japanese Restaurant for our anniversay celebration. We ordered a bottle of cold sake (300ml) for our table. In addition, we ordered their tasting menu (set dinner A, $24 and set dinner B, $27). We enjoyed each dish, especially the beef maki, Genji appetizer (which is fried won-ton), tempura. There are too much food for me and I have to ask the server to put the leftover for takeout. However, we did leave some room for the lychee ice cream. The bill was about $90 before tax and tips. Very reasonable price and we will definitely be back again. We will bring our friends there as well.

Great dining; lots of choices
Our dining experience at Genji was wonderful! They have large menu selection. I am vegetarian and was very pleased with the menu selection. My friends tried the set dinner thing and were very happy with the food and the price. If you can't finish all the food in the set dinner, don't worry about it. Just ask the server to pack the food for you to take home. The left-over was just good for next day lunch and still tasty.
Genji Japanese Restaurant interior décor is modern. They have small private areas divided by Japanese-style screen. Great for a dinner dates! We also enjoyed the easy listening and relaxing music. Great place, go eat!
